Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the ongoing local government elections in the state.
Speaking to journalists at his GRA polling unit after casting his vote, the governor appreciated the cooperation of voters and security agencies in ensuring a smooth electoral process.
“I am very happy with what I saw. The state electoral body is following the democratic process,” Lawal said.
He noted that members of opposition parties were voting without any harassment, describing the election as free, fair, and credible.
The governor commended the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission (ZASIEC) for its efforts in organizing a successful election and urged all eligible voters to exercise their constitutional right to vote.
“We are not intimidating anyone because PDP is the ruling party in the state. We will ensure justice for every political party,” he assured.
